• Asharqia Chamber and Badir for Technology Incubators and Accelerators launch the Training Camp "Women in Technology"

    Maram Bint Saeed Al-Jishi, President of the Executive Council for Businesswomen in Asharqia Chamber, opened "Women in Technology" Training Camp that is organized by the Chamber in cooperation with Badir Initiative for Incubators and Technology Accelerators for the first time in the region (The program is implemented for the first time in the region and is implemented for the first time dedicated to women in the Kingdom) at the Chamber's headquarter.

    The camp will last until Thursday, February 28, 2019.

     

    Al-Jishi confirmed during the opening of the camp on Sunday evening (February 24th) that the program aims to stimulate Asharqia entrepreneurs to engage in the technology sector, as a new model in support of our national choice towards diversification and optimal utilization of available human or natural resources.

    Al-Jishi said that since the inception of Vision 2030, women in the Kingdom were given confidence, which is precious as an essential element of the power possessed by the Kingdom.

    This precious confidence requires all of us to reach our performance to a high level of quality and effectiveness, and the launch of all sectors, especially the ICT sector, which is one of the top priorities of the Vision that the Kingdom will be a pioneer in the areas of digital economy, which is indicating the prospects for the wider sector in the present and future.

     

    Al-Jishi said, "In view of the information technology sector in the Kingdom, we are witnessing today qualitative development that is expected to pump more investments, this training camp includes extensive training and success stories for five consecutive days. It an opportunity for business entrepreneurs with the desire to enter the technology and information technology sector in order to develop their performance and weight and improve their knowledge of the economies of technology. So that they can deal positively with the growth and development witnessed by this sector in the Kingdom."

     

    For his part, the director of the incubator and speeding business for the Badir program in the Eastern region, Khalid bin Yusuf Al-Mahfouz, said that BADIR program for incubators and technology accelerators is one of the most important national creative environments in the field of supporting, establishing and developing pilot and emerging projects through its partnership with Asharqia Chamber.

    The program aims at qualifying business entrepreneurs and other interested individuals and willing to enter the field of ICT by introducing them to this field and the opportunities it includes investment and jobs promising for Saudi women.

    It also highlights how to create and build a brand, how to get financing, as well as advise on how to present ideas to investors.

     

    For her part, the director in charge of the Center for Businesswomen in the Chamber, Hanan bint Mohammed Al-Wabel, said that the Kingdom today is taking serious steps towards the empowerment of Saudi women in various fields, as a key component in achieving sustainable development.

    She stressed the importance of making the most of her abilities and the skills of her young women.

    It also paved the way for its ambitious Vision of a series of decisions and actions that motivated it to participate effectively in the development process.

     

    Asharqia Chamber, which hosts this training camp, recognizes the importance of educating and motivating women towards the modern economic fields, which are still far from them, despite the Kingdom's incentives and availability of support both for those who want to invest or work.​
